Fruit-full Communities celebrate all young people who got involved!

In October, more than 50 young people, staff and volunteers from YMCAs and Foyers came together at Liverpool YMCA's Dutch Farm site to celebrate their amazing achievements.

Through the Fruit-full Communities project, they designed their own gardens and orchards, planted fruit trees and plants and learnt how to look after them. Working hard in all types of weathers, the fruits of their hard work will be enjoyed by residents, staff and local communities for years to come!

When asked what they are most proud of, this is what they said:

Our orchard open day was amazing with over 100 local community members attending. We felt appreciated and proud to show off our hard work. YMCA North Tyneside

Through this project we received numerous awards, including 'Environment Now' and 'East Midlands in Bloom'.

We have a beautiful, quiet and calm area that is open for all residents. Our orchard is also a memorial for Lydia Louise.
YMCA North Staffordshire.

We have a nice outdoor space to sit in and just be chilled. We can harvest lovely fruit next summer and have BBQs. It just makes everything look nicer.
