Fruit-full Communities celebrate all young people who got involved!

More than 50 young people, staff and volunteers from YMCAs and Foyers came together in YMCA Liverpool last month to celebrate their amazing achievements.

Through the Fruit-full Communities project they designed their own gardens and orchards, planted their own trees and learnt how to look after them. Came rain or shine they dug, they tied, they watered and the fruits of their hard work will be enjoyed by residents, staff and local communities for years to come!

When asked what they are most prod of and here are a few examples:

Our orchard open day was amazing with over 100 local community members attending. We felt appreciated and proud to show off our hard work. YMCA North Tyneside

Through this project we received a numerous awards - including – Environment Now and East Midlands in Bloom. YMCA Humber

We have a beautiful, quiet and calm area that is out of way. Our Orchard is home to a memorial for Lydia Louise. YMCA North Staffordshire.

We have a nice outdoor space that we can sit in and just be chilled. We can get fruit next summer and have BBQs. It just makes everything look nicer. Ravenhead Foyer
